Do I need a hunting license or permit?
Before embarking on your hunt, you’ll need to obtain a valid Texas hunting license. The type of license required may vary based on factors such as your age, residency status, and whether you are hunting on public or private land.
What weapon should I use?
Firearms or Archery Equipment: Choose appropriate firearms or archery equipment for your hunt, ensuring they comply with Texas hunting regulations. Rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders, and bows are commonly used for hunting Axis deer. For recommendations reach out to us as we would be happy to give feedback.
Should I bring anything else outside of my rifle/bow?
Ammunition or Arrows: Make sure to bring an adequate supply of ammunition or arrows suitable for the firearm or bow you’ll be using during your hunt.
What else should I bring?
Hunting Gear: Equip yourself with essential hunting gear, including camouflage clothing, sturdy footwear, binoculars, rangefinders, hunting knife, and any other equipment you may need for tracking and field dressing. Also be sure to bring your hygiene products, and lounge wear.
Am I allowed to bring non hunters with me on my trip?
Yes! The Grubbs Ranch prides itself on being a family friendly destination for hunters, non hunters and friends. Think of us as the true essence of southern hospitality. We would love to host you, your friends, and or family on your next trip.
